# Register & Login

### Register at ninjateam.org

If you are new to our platform/website, you should register an account with us. Registering a Ninja Team account is free and helps both parties to get better support.

You need to enter some information like:

* Username
* Email address
* Password

Once you have entered this information, you can register on the website.

Verifying your email address is another task you should do. This way, if you have lost your password, you can reset it without a hassle.

Alternatively, you can also continue the registration by using your Google account.

### Login

Once you have completed the account registration process, you can log in to the Ninja Team website.

Using your email/username and password, you can log in to the website.

Soon, you will be redirected to the Ninja Team dashboard.

Changing your account details and accessing your license keys can be done via this dashboard.


# Your Account

Your Ninja Team account is the central place where you manage everything tied to your purchases: your profile, license keys, invoices, payment methods, and plugin downloads. Think of it as your "customer portal" - anything related to billing or licensing happens here, not inside WordPress.

Before You Begin

* You've purchased at least one plugin from[ ninjateam.org](https://ninjateam.org/).
* You have your account email and password. If you don't have an account yet, see Register & Login.

# Update Payment Method

If your card expires or you want to use a different card for future renewals, you can update your payment method, the steps depend on how you originally paid.

The payment method you use for a subscription determines how you update it. This article explains the difference so you know exactly where to go, depending on how you originally paid.

**Before You Begin**

* You have a Ninja Team account with an active subscription.
* You know which payment method you used at checkout - Stripe (credit/debit card/Google Pay/Amazon Pay/Cash App Pay) or PayPal.

**Important Notes**\
The Update Payment Method option inside your Ninja Team account is only available for subscriptions paid via Stripe. If you paid via PayPal, this option won't appear - you'll need to update your card directly in your PayPal account instead.

#### If You Paid via Stripe (Card)

1. Log in to your account at ninjateam.org/login.
2. Go to My Account → Purchase History.
3. Find the subscription you want to update.
4. Click Update Payment Method next to it.&#x20;
5. Enter your new card details and save. This card will be used for all future renewal payments on this subscription.

#### If You Paid via PayPal

Since PayPal manages your card details on its own platform, you won't see an Update Payment Method option in your Ninja Team account for this subscription. Update it directly in PayPal instead:

1. Log in to PayPal.
2. Go to Payments → Bills (or Automatic Payments).
3. Find the subscription linked to Ninja Team.
4. Click Update or Link a new bank or card, then follow PayPal's steps to add your new card.

**If You Want to Switch from PayPal to a Different Method Entirely**

There's no way to convert an existing PayPal subscription into a Stripe one directly. Instead:

1. Cancel your current PayPal subscription (see **Cancel Your Subscription**).
2. Make a new purchase using your preferred payment method (e.g., card via Stripe).


# Manage Licenses

When you purchase the premium version of a NinjaTeam plugin from the [NinjaTeam website](https://ninjateam.org/), you'll receive a license key. After installing the premium plugin, you must activate it with your license key to unlock all Pro features and receive automatic updates.

Without a valid license key, the premium features will remain unavailable. If you don't have a license key, you can still use the plugin by installing the free version from the WordPress Plugin Repository instead.

This guide explains how to activate your license key, check your license status, update your license when needed, and deactivate it if you want to move your license to another website.

#### Before You Begin

* The premium (Pro) version of the plugin is installed and activated on your WordPress site.
* You have administrator access to the WordPress dashboard.
* You have your license key. You can find it in your Ninja Team account at ninjateam.org, under My Account → License Keys.

Note:

If you purchased the plugin through a third-party marketplace such as Envato/CodeCanyon, the license process is different. See Envato License in Related Articles.

#### Enter License Key

Follow these steps the first time you activate the plugin on a new website.

1. Log in to your Ninja Team account and copy your license key from the Licenses page.
2. In your WordPress dashboard, navigate to the plugin's Settings page and open the License tab.
3. Paste the key into the License Key field.
4. Click Activate License
5. Wait for the confirmation message. The status should change to Active.

#### Remove License Key

To use your license on another live site, simply deactivate it using one of the following methods. Choose the appropriate option based on whether you still have access to the original website. There is no need to perform both methods.

**Deactivate License Key on Your Website**

Use this method when you still have admin access to the site.

1. Navigate to the plugin's Settings → License tab.
2. Click Deactivate.
3. Confirm the action if prompted.

The key is immediately freed up, and the status changes to Inactive.

**Deactivate Site in Your Account**

Use this method if the website is no longer accessible (for example, it was deleted, moved to a new domain, or you no longer have admin access).

1. Log in to your Ninja Team account and go to My Account → Manage Sites.
2. Locate the site you want to remove and click Deactivate next to it.
3. Confirm the action if prompted.

The site is removed from the license's activation list, freeing up a slot to activate the key elsewhere.

**Warning:** Removing or deactivating your license key will deactivate the Pro version on that site. Premium features, automatic updates, and access to premium support will no longer be available until you activate the plugin with a valid license key again.

# License Status

**Just renewed your license but it still shows as "expired" on your WordPress site?**

This happens sometimes because the plugin hasn't rechecked your license with the Ninja Team server yet. This guide shows you how to refresh your license status so it reflects your current subscription.

Follow these steps to update your license status from your WordPress admin dashboard.

1. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
2. Navigate to the plugin's Settings → License tab.
3. Locate the license key box you want to check.
4. Click the ReFresh Status button.
5. The status will refresh and show the latest information: Active, Inactive, or Expired.

**Note:**\
It can take a moment for the status to refresh after clicking Refresh, since the plugin needs to verify the key with your Ninja Team account.

# Upgrade License

If you outgrow your current plan (for example, you need more site activations or want to move from a single-site to a multi-site license), you can upgrade directly from your Ninja Team account instead of purchasing a brand-new license.

1. Log in to your account at[ ninjateam.org](https://ninjateam.org/login/) and go to My Account → Licenses.
2. Find the license you want to upgrade and look for a View Upgrades option next to it.

3. This option only appears if your plugin has higher-tier plans available. If you don't see it, your current plan is already the highest available, or the plugin doesn't offer multiple tiers.
4. Choose the plan you want to upgrade to and click Upgrade License.

5. You'll be taken to checkout to complete the payment for the upgrade.
6. If you have a coupon that applies to this plugin, enter it at checkout before completing the payment.
7. Once the payment is confirmed, your license key is automatically updated to the new plan. You don't need to re-enter the key in your WordPress site.

**Note**:\
The exact price you're charged at checkout depends on your current plan and billing cycle. Check the checkout page for the final amount before confirming the upgrade.


# Subscriptions

This page answers the most common questions customers have about how billing, cancellation, and expiration work for NinjaTeam subscriptions. Read this before you purchase, or any time you're unsure what happens next with your plan.

**If I request a refund, will my subscription be cancelled automatically?**

Yes. Once your refund is processed, the subscription is cancelled at the same time. You won't be charged again for it.

**If I cancel my subscription, can I still use the plugin?**

Yes. You keep full access, including updates and support, until the end of the billing period you already paid for. Your license only stops working after that date.

**What happens when my license expires?**

* The plugin keeps working on your site. It won't suddenly stop or break anything.
* You stop receiving new updates.
* You stop receiving priority support.
* Some premium features that require an active license still work as normally.

**What's the difference between "Cancelled" and "Expired"?**

Cancelled: You turned off auto-renewal. You keep access until the current period ends, then it moves to Expired.

**Expired:** The paid period has ended and the license is no longer active.

**What You'll Pay in Each Scenario**

It helps to know upfront what you'll be charged in different situations:

| Scenario                                      | What you'll pay                                                                  |
| --------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Subscription is active and renews normally    | The original price, or a lower renewal price if we're running a renewal discount |
| A renewal payment fails                       | Nothing is charged; your status shows Failing until it's resolved                |
| You cancel, then renew manually later         | Current price at the time you renew (unless we send you a coupon)                |
| Your license expires, then you renew manually | Current price at the time you renew (unless we send you a coupon)                |
| You come back after cancelling                | Current price (unless we send you a coupon)                                      |
| You used a public coupon at checkout          | The discount usually applies to the first year only                              |
| You used a private coupon we gave you         | Can be set up to apply to renewals too, if we configure it that way              |

**Note:**\
If you manually renew after your subscription was cancelled or expired, you'll be charged the current price - not your original price. Discounted or promotional pricing only carries over while your subscription stays active without interruption.

# Subscription Status

Ninja Team uses Easy Digital Downloads (EDD) to manage subscriptions and licenses. Your subscription status tells you whether your recurring payment is working properly, and what to do if it isn't.

* Pending: Payment hasn't completed yet
* Active: Everything is working normally
* Failing: A renewal payment attempt failed
* Trialing: You're in a free trial period
* Cancelled: Subscription was cancelled before its end date
* Expired: Subscription reached its end date without renewal
* Completed: All scheduled payments finished (fixed-term plans)
* Needs Attention: Requires manual review (sync or gateway issue)

**Note**:

If your status changes to anything other than Active and you didn't cancel it yourself, contact support so we can review your case.


# Manage Your Subscription

Some Ninja Team products are tied to a license key with recurring billing, some are one-time subscriptions without a license key, and lifetime purchases don't renew at all. This article explains the difference so you know what to expect on your billing cycle.

Examples of how this works:

* Plugin Pro - Single Site - Yearly: comes with a license key usable on 1 site, renewed annually.
* Plugin Pro - Unlimited Sites - Lifetime: comes with a license key for unlimited sites, but has no subscription, you won't be billed again.

If you don't want to renew, you can cancel your subscription and still keep using the plugin with premium updates until your current cycle ends.


# Cancel Subscription

If you no longer want a subscription to renew automatically, you can cancel it from your account, or from PayPal if that's how you paid.

**Option 1: Cancel from Your Ninja Team Account**

1. Log in to your account and go to My Account → Purchase History → Subscriptions.
2. Find the active subscription you want to cancel.
3. Click Cancel.
4. Confirm the cancellation.

**Option 2: Cancel via PayPal**

1. Log in to your PayPal account.
2. Go to Recent Activity or Automatic Payments.
3. Find the relevant payment and click Cancel.
4. Confirm by clicking Cancel Automatic Payments.

PayPal will send you a confirmation email once the recurring payment is cancelled.

**Option 3: Contact Support**

# Invoice

To support your accounting and tax requirements, we provide a self-service option that allows you to download invoices and update your billing information, including your business details and VAT number, directly from your NinjaTeam dashboard.

The first thing you need to do is log in to your NinjaTeam dashboard, go to your Purchase History, and with each of your purchases, you can view the invoice you want to download. Click Download Invoice to save it as a PDF file. Click Download Invoice to save it as a PDF file.

If you need to update your invoice details (for example, before downloading an invoice), you can easily do so from your dashboard.

When you click on it, you can update your business information (for example, business address, VAT number, or other billing-related details).<br>
